I had several questions on how to configure Repetier firmware and where to plug in the trigger on the ramps 1.4 board for laser engraving and triggering the laser. As well as Repetier Host working with Marlins firmware.
I am not sure what configuration settings I need so RepHost firmware will trigger my laser on my Ramps 1.4. I thought I saw something about using the fan output. If it is the fan output not sure what I can do. I am using a flexmod p3 as the driver. It has constant power and uses a 0-5v trigger for firing the laser. I am assuming fan control is 0-12v. Is there a way to set the voltage in RepHost or adjust the scale? I might just have to run a resistor or something.
I don’t know what RepHost is capable of doing for laser engraving (complexity wise). Can it auto change the intensity or does it have to be manually done?
What is the G-Code limit on RepHost? I plan on doing full gray scale images made through pic engrave. Some of the images may be over a million lines of G-code. They want you to use a streaming program for that. The major issue is that the streamers all run on GRBL. GRBL sucks and has no options. I am trying to avoid having to go to GRBL firmware at all costs, if I even can.
I saw that RepHost is supposed to be compatible with Marlins. I cannot for the life of me get my Marlins to talk to RepHost. The most I could get was RepHost said it was connected and the ramps display controller would blink off and on every 5 seconds or so. I am using Laser Marlins which was made off of an old version of Marlins (2013 ) but added some really nice Laser commands to it and set the display up for a laser but didn’t delete anything from the firmware. I am not sure why they won’t talk.
Anything would help, Thanks
