This can be a frustrating hobby. Changed too many things at once. Basically my extruded stepper won't work and causes the other steppers to lock until I press emergency stop on the host. The changes I made were to move from a damaged Ramps to a new one and also changing my steeper drivers for DRV8825s. If I run the RAMPS1.4test firmware all is good which tells me my hardware is probably good. I also moved to the config tool to create my firmware and now as soon as I try to move the extruded stepper on the manual control tab, nothing happens and the other steppers lock up. The extruder stepper locks too. Why do I have no issues when using the ramps test? Some things to note: after struggling for a while, the first time I tested with the ramps test firmware, the extruded played up, oscillating. I swapped the E0 and X connectors and both steppers worked. I swapped back and both worked. I always turn the power off before doing any swapping ( I have quite a collection of Polulu boards from early days.) I have swapped driver boards around and swapped stepper motors around I have even swapped pin outs so that the extruded is printing through the X driver location, but the issue is ALWAYS on the extruder designated output, irrespective of location on the ramps.
Some thoughts????
The enable pulse?????
The 32 vrs 16
The firmware configuration is doing something strange
